Ubuntu Malaysia New Planet

Well this post is just an announcement of a new Ubuntu Malaysia site which is called Planet Ubuntu Malaysia. Well basically this is the official Ubuntu Malaysia Planet which will gather all the Ubuntu-my member's blog to be review on one site.

I would like to encourage all of the Ubuntu Malaysia's members to help and try to design a new logo for our planet. Well basically the logo should reflect our community logo. I hope I will have better response to this one. All idea's and artwork are very welcome.

By the way, please visit and subscribe to our LoCo planet via feeds. And please let me know if you would like your blog to be publish on the planet. For any request to be syndicate with the planet, please refer to Ubuntu Malaysia Forum as I have made a post there.

Jokes On Linux

Well, i'm in a mood to laugh tonight and I searching google for all kind of funny stuff. Suddenly I came upon one jokes about talking programmer, here is the jokes:

Three male programmers were in the bathroom standing at the urinals.
The first programmer finishes, walks over to the sink to wash his hands.
He then proceeds to dry his hands very carefully. He uses paper towel after paper towel and ensures that every single spot of water on his hands is dried.
Turning to the other two, he says, "At Microsoft, we are trained to be extremely thorough."
The second programmer finishes his task at the urinal and he proceeds to wash his hands. He uses a single paper towel and makes sure that he dries his hands using every available portion of the paper towel.
He turns and says, "At Intel not only are we trained to be extremely thorough but we are also trained to be extremely efficient."
The third programmer finished and walks straight for the door, shouting over his shoulder, "At Sun, we don`t piss on our hands.

Yeah, It was funny. But the most important thing is, this jokes just made my day! Nice one.

Ubuntu Repo Using Windows IIS?

Well, I am a bit surprise when one of my friend gave me a link and ask me to take a look. As soon as I open the URL given, I can see clearly that the server stated that they are using Windows IIS. Moreover it's a repositories server for Ubuntu Linux.

Why in the world they would like to use Windows as Server while they keep on improving their Operating System to beat Bill Gates product. Heh, you do the calculation and make your own judgment. Surprise huh. LOL~

Off-Topic: Predict People Behavior ?

I've been in a lot of thinking lately about can people read or predict other people behavior ? As I am right now playing through people thought and people reaction over some circumstances, but I still cannot find any strong point to make a concrete solution.

I've read several articles on psychologist and also a few tips and trick on how to get to know people better, but there seem lack of information or direction on how a person could be group into a certain behavior. Well to be honest, people heart is the most unique things to learn about.

Yes! we could say that heart is a noun, but heart lead to something more than people could imagine which is feelings. Feeling is not an object where someone could look or touch. Therefore you could never know what is inside someone's feeling.

So for me, psychologist only make assumption on people behavior based on their reading, learning and experiences in life, but the truth is, no one in this world could really make a solid guess on what peoples' behavior are. But still the best way to get to know people is by experiences.

Ubuntu: Hardy Heron Official Release Later Today

This is what I've been waiting for the last few months - Ubuntu 8.04 codename Hardy Heron Official Release. It's been a while since the LTS Ubuntu version comes out since Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake. So from the date given on the Ubuntu Website, the release should be on 24th April 2008 and it's today.

This Pictures taken from Jabz Gallery

So what do you expect from Hardy Heron Release?

Well this is the latest changes I've search on the net for past few days which is the most exciting things to give a try:
  • Ubuntu LTS raises the bar on the linux desktop usage/experiences. This LTS version will include the latest stabil core products such as Mozilla Firefox 3(beta 5) which is Ubuntu is the first distribution to include it on an official release.
  • It also has enchanced photo experience: F-spot with upgraded camera and phone recognition.
  • Music sharing and download.
  • Better video. The new Movie Player will have capabilities to browse youtube video on the fingertips and easier to share videos with the rest of the internet users.
  • Clock and calendar enchancement to manage time across the globe with a single click to set, attend and receive alerts about appointments.
  • Slick desktop: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS combines the latest GNOME applications with desktop visual effects, giving users a smoother, better-looking and more intuitive experience.
More over, I heard from one of my friend who has been using Hardy Heron beta release, the wubi application is a major changes on Ubuntu Installation. It's working great with windows currently(full support for Windows XP NTFS). What is wubi? - Wubi is an officially supported Ubuntu installer for Windows users that can bring you to the Linux world with a single click. Wubi allows you to install and uninstall Ubuntu as any other Windows application, in a simple and safe way.(taken from wubi official site).

So it's a great new release for Ubuntu Linux and I'm eager to be among the first person to have a try on the official release of Ubuntu Hardy Heron. Happy downloading later~!

A New Domain For this Blog

Hey, I have some comments from my friends to change and use my own domain instead of using http://blablabla.blogspot.com to my domain. So I accept their advise and buy a new domain for a cheap price from Sumardi.

So now I would like to announce that my blog has minor change in URL which formerly http://gunbladeiv.blogspot.com has change to http://blog.gunbladeiv.com. So please change all the feed subscriber and bookmarks from blogspot to gunbladeiv.

"Hope For A New Beginning"

Yeah, I would like to start over again to promote my blog for people to recognize and know my blog existence. Even though I'll lost all my traffic history when changing to own domain, but i hope it will be better in the future.

Thanks for those who read my blog and subscribe it through feeds and thanks for those who read my blog just to gain information. So please remember to change to:

Off Topic: Nice site to visit

I've been looking for a site which can make me wants/eager to visit everyday. So I found out there is one which is a little bit interesting and keep updating each and everyday. I wonder if you've visit the site or not. But here is my oppinion.

About the site:
Josh and Nina are two friends. Every day, they each take a photo. Operating under a pact of absolute secrecy, neither knows what the other is working on. Each morning, they post their photos on Minty Forest side by side. The results are often surprising — not least to the photographers themselves.

An experiment in blind-collaboration, the coupled images of the MintyForest project are explorations of both creative and personal synchronicity — as subject matter, color palette, and technique are compared and contrasted anew with each day. (It’s also an excuse for Josh and Nina to use their shiny new cameras more often.)

Taken from Minty Forest

Here is the sneak peek of the website if you would like to have a look. I recommend the site for people who like to see beautiful shot taken by two person side by side. Are they a good photographer? Nope they dont - But they do took a lot of nice pictures about anything surround them.

Here is the link to the Minty Forest Site. And keep up the good work you guys.

SHOUTOUT: It's Boring!

It was a boring day for me on the Chinese New Year. Everyone kept the silent on the IRC and everywhere. So i decided to make a post about my boring day! hehe.

anyway, you are the unlucky one to read this post. At least i know that you are bored too. hehe.. I do something today.. repairing my wireless router + modem cause it cant dialing to streamyx anymore.

I open up the router casing using tools and try to figure out what cause the modem failure. Interestingly I can't find anything's wrong with the circuit. hehe.. Actually I know nothing about electronics's circuits. So it's like "tikus membaiki labu".

I try to dial to streamyx using the router to find anything strange about the router.. and suddenly I think it's fix itself.. keke.. it's work and get connected without any difficulties. What a joke. I was using tmnet modem to dial for about 3 months cause i thought the router's modem broke.

Arrgghhh.. what should I post? Damn it is boring....!

My first Post

As I am new to this blogging world, so i hope people wont get bored with what i'm trying to post here. I'm not a perfect blogger as i'm not good in my english. So in this post I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Mohd Faizul and I'm from Malaysia(what a peaceful country). I am 24 years old and currently studying at Sultan Idris Shah Polytechnic at Sabak Bernam, Selangor. I would like to share my point of view on certain thing with people all around the globe on certain matters.

My wish list:

  • Share my little knowledge on Ubuntu.
  • Share my life experience.
  • Share my projects developement.
As i'm still a student, so i wont get a lot of time to make a post when i'm in polytechnics due to lack of internet connection there. So I hope to post as many as I can where ever possible to make posts.

Therefore wait for my next post. May be a little bit about ubuntu.

Chiao!
